How can you get started?
1. Call me (250-554-7909) to get all of your questions answered!
2. Read over the Consultant Agreement, Order Form, and Quick Start Form (if applicable) and fill out your information
3. Be sure to enter "Shannon Miller" in the Sponsor/Supervisor Section
4. Fax completed forms to Usborne Head Office at the toll free number 1-800-461-6858
5. I will call you as soon as I receive your new consultant information from Head Office and help you with all the training
and support you need to start your own successful Usborne Books at Home business!
What are the quotas?
No monthly quotas. No territories within the Canadian border. To remain "active", your obligations are simply
to submit within any given 6-month period, orders that total $500.00. That's it.
What are my obligations?
Although not mandatory, it is recommended that you, as a consultant, attend the monthly training meetings in your area
as well as keep in touch with your sponsor and supervisor on a regular basis. You are the owner of your own business and you
work for yourself...but there is no reason for you to work by yourself. The sense of teamwork and fellowship among the UBAH
consultants is really quite remarkable.
Do I need to buy a new kit every season?
No. You are only required to purchase a predetermined kit when you start up. After that, any additions to your kit are
your choices. New titles are released every month and are offered to consultants at 50% off. Customer specials are also offered
at one copy each at 50% off. Your kit is personal to you. The kit belongs to you so if you decide to stop selling it is yours
to keep. No questions asked.
How many shows do I have to have?
You are not obliged to have any shows. Although the most successful UBAH consultants will agree, home shows are the backbone
of their business, This is your business you take it to the level you want. You set your goals for the number of shows you
want per week or month. Remember this business is flexible.
How does the commission structure work?
All consultants are paid the same base commission. This is calculated on the retail total of books sold. Not on the wholesale
price as with other companies. All hostess benefits and bonuses, customer promotions are provided by UBAH, not the individual
consultant. Your 20 - 25 % commission is yours to keep immediately. You collect the orders and money right away from your
customers; when you submit the order to head office you only pay the wholesale price + shipping and tax.
As well, for every home party submitted, the consultant has the right to purchase $30 in books for 30% of the retail price
(that's just $9). This can be used to purchase books for your home library, build up your kit, or as an extra hostess bonus.
It's up to you what you use it for.
Everyone is eligible to receive a 3% cash or 7% free books bonus each month by attaining a very achievable bonus level
of sales.
Should you decide to become a supervisor, you receive an additional 7% override on your own personal sales and those of
your group. I can explain in greater detail the supervisor's program if you would like.
What about support?
Ultimately, it is me, your sponsor / supervisor who is responsible for providing you with the support you require to help
make your business a success. I provide monthly meetings that will help you learn all aspects of the business. You will meet
& work along side a great group of people that believe in Usborne. We all have a love for the books. We love the fact
we are promoting children's literacy! This is something to be very proud of!
